Year 6 reflected on their most recent learning in RE today by visiting six prayer stations: each one is designed to make us think about a different aspect of Advent. We connected with God by reading the story of the nativity and putting ourselves into the story. We focused on the true meaning of Advent and attempted to rid our minds of any distractions of the season. We pondered the gifts of Advent – hope, peace, joy and love – and thought about which one we need most in our lives at the moment. We prayed for people who need love and care this Advent. We wrote letters to God to share our wishes, fears, joys and sorrows. We shared what we are waiting for during Advent and what we think God is waiting for.Our pupil chaplins did a marvellous job of guiding us around each station.
