‘It is better NOT to be a witness.’
This is the statement which we explored in Year 6, as an introduction to our RE Pentecost Topic – WITNESSES. We began by improvising some scenarios where we may see something unusual or wrong and be faced with a dilemma – should we tell someone or not?
Following this, we held a debate to consider the pros and cons of being a ‘witness.’ After lengthy discussion, we decided that it was important to be a ‘witness’ but recognised that standing up for a belief can require a great deal of courage!
The rest of our topic will focus on the courage needed by God’s ‘witnesses’, after the death and resurrection of Jesus.
