Year 6 have been chosen to take part in a very exciting project. Working with staff from www.culturestreet.org.uk/, we will select our favourite paintings from the Shipley Art Gallery, one of which is currently in storage and will be put on display. After that, we will be filmed giving a ‘critique’ of the paintings.
In preparation for this, staff from Culture Street came to our school to teach us the appropriate skills. Being interviewed on camera is not straightforward, as we quickly discovered! It is important to speak clearly, use expression, make eye contact, vary the tone of your voice and be animated!
We watched a selection of YouTube clips and analysed them – what made them interesting or boring? Finally we were filmed giving our opinions on various pieces of Art.
The next part of this project will take place in November and the final ‘film’ will be available to view on YouTube
