This week Year 5 visited the library to hear author and poet, Paul Cookson, talk about his work. The hour-long session was highly entertaining. Paul engaged the children from the outset and had them all joining in with his poems. It was very inspiring to hear how he creates his poems, which are usually about random things such as, Grandad forgetting to put his trousers on or Wombat poo! He also showed us how poems can be set to music by accompanying some of his readings with his ukulele playing.
