Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed NSPCC Number Day and taking part in practical activities that utilised not only their maths skills, but their determination and perseverance.
We took part in a number challenge where we had to use digits 0-9 to create 4-digit numbers, which we then had to add up to make a given number. It was a challenge and we got very close to the given number on our first few tries but we weren’t quite there.
All together, we strategized and thought what the best way to solve the problem would be, applying our knowledge of the process of addition and using number bonds.
We did it! Well done Year 5, you showed great willpower to succeed at the challenge given and you didn’t give up.
