We warmed up with a game of traffic lights to get our bodies ready for the lesson. We then carried out a range of stretches for our arms, legs, hips and wrists. As well as stretches we continued to learn some yoga poses such as happy cat, sad cat and toes to head. We recapped what we did in the previous lesson and demonstrated some of the balances we had learnt such as basic, scale, Y and T balances. We then moved on to looking at different jumps. Before we did that we talked about landing safely, we needed two feet on the floor, arms out in front of us in case we fell and bent knees. The first jump we tackled was the straight jump we started with arms above our heads, swung our arms down and jumped. The next jump was the tuck jump where we had to tuck our knees into our tummy as we jumped. Then we tried the star jump where we had to try and jump with our arms and legs out at the same time and ensure they come back in at the same time before landing. The last two jumps were the trickiest and required concentration and skill. The first was the pike jump we had to jump with straight legs in front of us before landing safely and the second was the straddle jump where both legs had to be out to the side whilst jumping. We then tried putting together some of the jumps we had learnt into a sequence.
