Last Wednesday the children in Year 4 went to visit the BIg Local Allotment off Lobley Hill Road, for a presentation and celebration of the artwork they completed with Miss  Blackie earlier this year. The children made Cyanotype prints with the artist Simone Rudolphi and Suzanne who runs the Big Local Allotment project, at the church on Victoria road. The children used foraged natural materials including herbs, seed pods, feathers and other plants  for their artwork, which has now been used to make a new roof for the allotment to provide shade and shelter when they are working there on their gardening skills. At the celebration the children evaluated their artwork and wrote down their ideas for future projects. They were all excited to meet the lady mayoress who unveiled the wonderful blue roof. If you are ever passing take a look because it is beautiful!
