In science, we looked at what electrical circuits are. We zoomed in on the word ‘circuit’, what this means and how it links to electricity. We identified how this just means it is a pathway that electricity can flow around. As a class, we investigated the different components of an electrical circuit then had a go at building a circuit that would light up a bulb. Once we all were able to make a bulb light up, we went onto include other components such as a buzzer, a motor and a switch. We continued to investigate how we can add each of these items into our circuit to make it work efficiently. Year 4 were very successful in making all kinds of circuits! Finally, we had a go at drawing up some circuits using the correct symbols for each component. A very fun and interesting afternoon in year 4!
