Year 3 are amazing artists and this term they are exploring prehistoric art. This work is linked well to our Literacy texts from the Autumn term when the children were reading about the Stone Age. The children have observed photographs of Stone Age paintings on caves and they have produced their own sketches of animals that may have been drawn in Stone Age times. The children have then practised scaling to enlarge their work and they using charcoal to make their work look authentic. This week the children are going to explore making their own paint to mark make using flour, water and spices. This would be a fun activity to try at home and you can even make Stone Age paint with crushed berries, leaves, mud or clay.
