Florence Nightingale visits Year 2

This half term Year 2 have been learning about the life of Florence Nightingale. We borrowed artefacts from a local museum and the children enjoyed guessing what each object was and what it was used for.  We then had a great workshop with a local historian – That History Bloke.  He explained what life was like for soldiers during the war in Scutari. He then brought Florence Nightingale in to Year 2.  The children were amazed when she walked through the door! Florence Nightingale explained what she did at the hospital and taught the children very important jobs: how to fold sheets and how to bandage an injured soldier. All of the children had a very enjoyable day.
