What is it like to live in a land of Snow and Ice?

We have been finding out about life in an environment very different to our own.  We did our research using our non-fiction collection, our laptops and I Pads and found out about animals that live in the Arctic and the Antarctic. We learnt about the special adaptations they had made to survive in the cold.  We enjoyed investigating freezing and melting!  We pretended to be inuits and fished in the ice.  We made dough snowmen and ordered them by size.  In Funky Fingers we used tweezers to put the snowmans buttons on.  We enjoyed making sugar cube igloos and snowy day paintings.  We used our globe to locate the North and the South Poles.
