What a fabulous World Book Day we had in Year 2!
We started the day by sharing our favourite stories and books from home with each other. Then Mrs Clarke shared her favourite story – The Twits by Roald Dahl. After that we then split into two teams – boys vs girls and competed against each other in ‘name that story!’ This was a fun game where Mrs Clarke read a short blurb and the children had to know the name of the story. Both teams were excellent and their knowledge of infant stories was very impressive. The boys won by one point and enthusiastically celebrated their victory!
Later on in the day, we contributed to the first ever Corpus Christi collaborative story. Each teacher brought in a mystery object which was to be incorporated into the story. Nursery began the process before passing the story to Reception class, Year 1 and then to us. We added our ideas to the story and passed it onto Year 3. At the end of the day in our whole school assembly we got to listen to what happened next in the story.
As a reward for their excellent efforts, all of the children got a yummy hot chocolate to enjoy while listening to even more stories!
