We enjoyed a day out at Washington Wildfowl and Wetlands native reserve. We engaged all our senses as we experienced uplifting Autumnal colours, the crunch of leaves underfoot and the sounds of the migrating birds.

We were able to encounter wildlife first hand as we found out all about otters and their habitats , what lives in a pond and the animals that live in woodland. We saw some over winter bird visitors who stop at the reserve at this time of year.

The children enjoyed getting up close to the flock of pink Chilean flamingos, and meeting the cheeky otter family as they foraged and swam in their enclosure. As a final treat we explored the nature kitchen and adventurous climbing park.
