In the Early Years Unit we have been celebrating the new calendar year. We especially enjoyed singing and dancing to “Auld Lang Syne” and watching fireworks around Big Ben chiming at midnight. We talked about our New Year promises and how we might keep them!
Following our interests in snow and ice we have been finding out about life in the Polar Regions of our world. We were lucky enough to make our own ice outside, and had lots of fun trying to make it melt!
We have been learning about the everyday life of the Inuit people in the Artic and comparing it to our own. Some of us decided we would prefer to live in the Artic- we were especially interested in travel by snowmobile or sled dogs!
We have been fishing outside our igloo and finding out about the animals that live in the Polar Regions and their adaptations to survive.
